My Small Town Cozy Mystery Is a Go...

I don't know if they are any Jessica Fletcher fans still out there. We tuned in and watched her every Sunday night (or I think it was on Sunday night). Lots of dead bodies turned up in Cabot Cove.

Anyway, my small town cozy mystery looks as if it will appear in e-book/paper early this year. The title is QUIET ANCHORAGE. My small town is in Virginia, not in Maine. I hope my two amateur sleuths and their murder mystery are appealing to mystery fans.

I'll be sure to post more details as they become available.

My Cozy Mystery's Front Cover!

Sorry...I always get a little carried away when I first see the cover art to a new book. This cover goes to my cozy murder mystery, QUIET ANCHORAGE.

I hope it's an entertaining read that presents a fair-play, amateur sleuth mystery. I'll chat a bit more about how I came to write QUIET ANCHORAGE in future blog posts.

My guest blog on a small town called Quiet Anchorage

Yeah, so it's an unusual name. That's the point. If you go here, I'll tell you all about it:

Grateful thanks are extended to Kristin and her cool weblog, ALWAYS WITH A BOOK (also a striking and apt name).

My Dual Personality Hard At Work

As you can see from below in my signature line, I have two new books out right now. Lake Charles is an Appalachian noir with a hardboiled edge. Quiet Anchorage is a small town cozy mystery featuring a pair of sisters as senior amateur sleuths.

What do these mystery books of polar extremes say about me? Only that I enjoy reading and writing in both subgenres. I tend to lean more toward the hardboiled stuff, but I also like the change of pace that the variety offers me.

At any rate, both titles are ready for your instant download to your Kindle or Nook e-reader.

Lake Charles snared a favorable review from Publishers Weekly while Quiet Anchorage has attracted some enthusiastic reviews from the dedicated reader weblogs.

Quiet Anchorage is the first in a series. If it sells a few copies and if the readers like it, I might be able to bring out the next title, Bermuda Canard. So, if you're a cozy fan at all, please consider adding Quiet Anchorage to your Kindle or Nook queue.

Thanks for your interest. Now it's back to work now.

My New Isabel and Alma Trumbo Cozy Mystery THE LADYBUG SONG Is Out

Back in the years before the economy tanked, I used to write and sell my stories to the Dorchester Media ladies confessional magazines (TRUE STORY). About the same time, I wrote a cozy mystery series featuring a pair of senior sleuth sisters, Isabel and Alma Trumbo. The first title Quiet Anchorage (2011) sold well enough for me to write and publish a second title, The Cashmere Shroud (2013). Now THE LADYBUG SONG is out as a Kindle release. I've enjoyed spending time with Isabel and Alma who are based, in part, on my two grand aunts who are no longer with us. I don't know if either of them was an amateur sleuth, but Isabel had a subscription to Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine. She passed on her old copies to me for my reading enjoyment. I can remember my reading EQMM during my summer vacations from school. The added bonus for me is the small town setting of Quiet Anchorage, Virginia, where the Trumbo sisters live and sleuth. Please consider adding THE LADYBUG SONG to your summer reading list.

Book Description:
Phyllis Garner refuses to believe her best friend Ladybug Miles’ death is an accidental drowning in the local Coronet River. Phyllis thinks it was murder and asks her friends Isabel and Alma Trumbo to do their talented snooping in small town Quiet Anchorage to root out the truth of what happened and bring the guilty killer to justice. Isabel and Alma call on their own assistants, including twentysomething Sammi Jo and The Three Musketeers (Ossie, Blue, and Willie) to help with the investigation. For the dog lovers, Isabel and Alma’s pooch Petey Samson plays an instrumental role in solving the murder mystery. This third title in the popular Isabel and Alma Trumbo Cozy Mystery Series delivers the usual quaint small town setting, gentle humor, and good-hearted but dogged amateur lady sleuths.
