My 2011 Reading Challenge Update
Tonight I finished reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Now I'm at 18 of 65 (27%) in my book count for the year. It's not a marathon or anything, but I like to track how it's going in the book world.
Shouldn't Dragon Tattoo count for two or three books? I mean it clocks in at 467 pages, and that's a chunk of reading. I'm not a big fan of reading the long books, though I did find Dragon Tattoo to be engaging.
On to do some more reading...

2011 Reading Challenge: Status
I just finished reading another novel. My record is 28/65 books read for 2011. That puts me 10 books or 15% ahead of schedule. That's good to know. Too bad I can't read faster and enjoy twice as many books. I have to say that I've enjoyed all the reads on my list, some books more than others, but all have been entertaining. There are others still on my TBR list. So, I better get cracking on those.
Happy reading, all you fellow book lovers.

Success: My 2011 Goodreads Reading Challenge
Well, 2011 is almost in the books, folks. Tis the time to reflect back on the past year, and see what we did and didn't do. For me, a big activity was reading books. I set my goal at a modest 100 books, and I'm at 122, so I did a little better than I projected.
2011 blessed me with more 5-star reads than previous years, and that's always a pleasant surprise to encounter. I stayed, for the most part, with fiction, although I included a few nonfiction titles.
Much of my time is consumed by my writing projects, so it cuts down on my reading time. On the other hand, I see my reading as an essential extension of my writing. So, I read. This Xmas I got the Kindle Basic, so that gives me another option for books. Better yet, I'm finding I like it just fine despite looking at a computer screen all day.
So, I'm getting primed for another reading year with lots of books. Best for your reading adventures, as well.
