Kalofer Rusev (born 1970) is a Bulgarian author and philologist. He holds a Master’s degree in Bulgarian Philology from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

For many years, he served within Bulgaria’s Ministry of Interior, specializing in the protection of cultural heritage and investigations related to historical artifacts. His professional experience in safeguarding ancient sites and confronting illicit treasure hunting deeply informs his fiction, lending authenticity and authority to his exploration of hidden histories, secret societies, and forgotten belief systems.

Rusev is the author of five published novels in Bulgaria. Knights and Wolves marks his international debut in English.
