I wrote The Adventures of Meow Smith because many children experience big emotions they don’t always know how to express.
Feelings like anxiety, worry, and self-doubt often show up in quiet ways—especially during moments like the first day of school.
Some children don’t say, “I feel anxious.”
They say, “I don’t want to go.”
They shut down.
They avoid.
They worry in silence.
I wanted to create a story that helps children see themselves in those moments—and understand that what they are feeling is normal.
Meow’s journey reflects the reality that bravery doesn’t always look loud or obvious.
Sometimes, bravery is simply trying.
My hope is that this series gives children the language, confidence, and reassurance they need to face their feelings—and reminds them that they are never alone in what they experience.
Because sometimes what looks like resistance is really a child trying their best.
