Juliet Kincaid, Writer

I’ve been hooked on fiction since grade school. And I’ve always preferred stories that supply adventure and escape. Humor and wit help, too. Mostly I read mystery fiction, especially historical mysteries. And I try to write the same sort of stories and novels as the ones I like to read.

My publications include the Cinderella, P. .I. fairy tale mysteries for grown-ups that feature Cinderella twenty years, three kids and a few extra pounds after the ball and the Calendar historical mystery series set in Kansas City around 1900, when life could sometimes get downright deadly. The Calendar mysteries tell the story of Minty Wilcox and Daniel Price from newly met to newly wed and beyond.

Thanks so much for your questions, Pam, and for your praise.
As for the order to read my stories and books in, my clever daughter observed the other day that the Cinderella, P. I. series is sort of like a meal. This makes the stories the appetizers. So if you like, you can read the first story "Cinderella, P. I." or one of the other short stories published individually for Amazon Kindles. Or maybe you'd like to make a whole meal off the short stories, so you could go for the short story collection Cinderella, P. I. or the new collection, Cinderella, P. I. Around the World. But maybe you prefer reading novels, so you might want to skip the appetizers and go right for the main courses: Walls, a Cinderella, P. I. Novel and Wings, a Cinderella, P. I. Novel. (Here my analogy breaks down since you really should read Walls before Wings.) These two novels are substantial works and I hope they satisfy you readers. As for dessert, next year I will be bringing out a third story collection (the last book in the series), Cinderella, P. I., First Case to Last.
Thank you also for complimenting my covers, Pam. My daughter is the model for most of them and I do the paintings myself.(less)

My Magical Closet: Fall 2025 Newsletter Among the categories of things that might become expensive during these tariffying times is clothing. Lucky for me, I have a magical closet.
