Greg is a novelist, journalist and Civil War historian. His first book is the family-friendly collection of ghost stories set in DeKalb County, Ala., titled "Hollers From The Hollows". His second work is the Civil War twist on the Charles Dickens classic ghost story titled "A Secessionist Christmas Carol". Combining history with haunts, Starnes has been reviewed as "making learning history fun". His ghost stories have been compared to those penned by the late Kathryn Tucker Windham.

He is currently pitching a historical fiction novel about the capture and forced relocation of women and children in 1864. The novel is based on true events that took place in Georgia. ...more
