Varoushka Sah is an Indian novelist who writes across registers: soft love, dark love, the kind that leaves a mark. She divides her time between Noida and Nainital, the Himalayan hometown she adores, with her two dogs, Leo and Louie, who are convinced they are the real authors in the house.
Her debut, The Day She Was Gone: A Dog's Story, is the first book of the Echo Trilogy. It began with the loss of her dog Sugar, and with a question she couldn't put down: what would the grief sound like if the ones telling it weren't human? The answer became a novel narrated by the two dogs left behind, a book about memory, change, and the particular silence a house holds after someone is gone.

A quick note for anyone wondering about the dates.
