Derek Gilbert is a storyteller who writes across genres, drawn to compelling moments and the people caught inside them.

He grew up in suburban Atlanta, where he developed an early interest in writing and storytelling, sparked by a love of reading, movies, and television. That interest was further shaped by his appreciation for sports storytelling, especially professional wrestling, football, and basketball, where narrative, character, and competition often come together.

He is especially drawn to stories that feel cinematic, character-driven, and emotionally honest, where the people at the center matter just as much as the events unfolding around them.
