Murat Gil, 1982 İzmir doğumlu. Celal Bayar Üniversitesi Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümü mezunu. Çeşitli eğitim kurumlarında Türkçe ve edebiyat öğretmenliği yaptı. Öykü ve şiirleri Varlık, Türk Dili gibi dergilerde yayımlandı. Hâlen özel bir eğitim kurumunda yöneticilik yapıyor.

Murat Gil was born in İzmir in 1982. He graduated from Celal Bayar University, Department of Turkish Language and Literature. He worked as a teacher of Turkish and literature at various educational institutions. His short stories and poems have been published in literary magazines such as Varlık and Türk Dili. He currently works as an administrator at a private educational institution.

The Demons: The Silent Cry of a Family

I picked up *The Demons* (*Cinler*) by Fatma Aydemir after reading a recommendation in the **O2** supplement of **Oksijen** newspaper. The book's introduction mentioned that it had been selected by *Der Spiegel* as one of the 100 greatest works written in German. I found that to be quite a bold claim. After all, every literary list reflects a particular perspective.
