Death Reveals the Truth is now available to pre-order

I am pleased to say that my new book 'Death Reveals the Truth' which is the first book in the Ronnie Smart series is now available to pre-order for Kindle.
The book tells the story of Ronnie Smart a young woman whose life changes when her father is murdered and she inherits the family business.
And it isn't any ordinary business either.
Ronnie finds herself working as a rogue vampire slayer for the Covenant of Vampires.
If you enjoy vampire books and this one appeals then you can pre-order your copy from your local Amazon now and you will receive it on October 5th when it is published.

New book series launches soon

Over the last few months I have been busy working on the first book in a new series.
I don't want to say to much about it at the moment, but details will follow soon.
I am writing the final few chapters and the book should be finished shortly.
The cover is already sorted out and that is a first for me.
It's the first time I have a cover in place prior to finishing work on a book.
I am also considering making the book available for pre-order on Amazon, but I have yet to make a decision on that.
I already have ideas for another five books in this series and I hope the subject will appeal to readers.
So if you are interested all the launch details will be in my next blog post.
Until then.
Happy reading.

Back on track

First of all I must apologise for my absence.
I am currently work on two new books and the prequel book to my new series has just been published.
Added to that I've had to set up a new website.
I'm sure you can imagine how busy I have been.
But I'm not complaining, as I've been loving every minute of it.
My new series is called "The Eternal Fae" and as I said the prequel to the series "Hiding the Truth" has just been published.
I hope to start work on the first book in the series soon.
I am already working on the fourth Anya Harding novel as well as the first book in a brand new series.
So back to the writing I go.
And I promise to try and blog more regularly time permitting.

Exciting changes ahead

Right now I have a spring in my step and I am really looking forward to the future.
Why? you may ask.
Well it's because I am going to a new self-publishing publishers. And I am hopeful that my next book will be the first I self-publish with them.
Don't get me wrong my current publishers are great, but when it comes to publishing e-books they restrict what I can do with them.
These new publishers do things completely different, and I will be able to do things with them, that benefit me as an author and you as readers.
Right now everything is still up in the air as I only received the news late last night.
But one thing is for sure there are exciting times ahead for me, and I will keep you up to date with what is happening.

Back in the swing of things.

First of all I must apologise for my absence.
I have been teaching and as a result all that work had to come before everything else.
But rest assured I'm back now!
2015 really has got off to a busy start for me.
Last month my latest book on the Angels Angelic Messageswas published.
That is already available widely and I was thrilled last week when someone bought the first e-book copy of it.
Last Friday I published the second Anya Harding novel The Dead Can Kill. At the moment it is only available from my publisher, but I hope it will be widely available before too long.
In this new book Anya has to deal with a spirit that is wrecking havoc and also try and stop a murder that she has seen happening in her shop.
I loved every minute of writing the book and I hope that you enjoy it too.
Finally my e-book The World of Anya Harding is now available free of charge.
So if you would like to discover what inspired me to write the books and create Anya and also meet all the characters in the novels now is the time to do so.
Until my next Blog Post.
Take care everyone.

Loving what I'm doing

You know I've said it before and I'll say it again:I love being a writer.
I don't know from day to day what I'm going to be doing and I haven't got a problem with that.I know some writers don't like the not knowing in advance, but it really doesn't bother me.
I love promoting the books on a daily basis. Again I know some people don't like this but as far as I'm concerned it's all part of being a writer.
Now I know that some days I am unable to work on my new book, but I know I will get there in the end. I am well into writing it now, so I don't feel that is a problem for me.
What are your plans for this weekend?
I'll tell you something for nothing I have no idea what I'll be doing right now.
But that's one of the things I love about being a writer.
I hope you all have a great weekend.

The importance of friends.

The last month has been an absolute blur.
It is a month since A Murder Is Foreseen was published. Every day since then I've been busy promoting the book.
I have also published my book of short stories When Witches Gather and I am promoting that as well.
Added to that I am trying to do some work on my new novel every day.
Now don't get me wrong I love writing and I love everything that comes with it. I get up each morning and I wonder what the day is going to bring and that's great.
But today I came down with a bang.
I like to think I'm a good friend to those I am closest to. I always try to be there for them no matter what.
Despite being busy with the books I've been checking in with everyone to see how they are and everybody was fine.
Now I have discovered that two of my friends have personal problems that I wasn't aware of.
As you can imagine I feel terrible in myself. From what I had gathered they were all right, and now it turns out they were anything but.
I've learnt an important lesson from all this.
I really need to start creating a balance between my writing and my personal life.
Yes being a writer is important, but friends are just as important and if you care for them you should be there for them no matter how busy you are.

A Day To Remember

You know there are some days writers never forget.
When A Murder Is Foreseen was published the other week it felt fantastic. My debut novel was out.
And the feeling I had a few days later when I actually got a copy in my hands was priceless.
This morning I discovered that the book had received it's first review and a 5* one at that.
As you can imagine I was thrilled to know someone had read the book and enjoyed it.
I felt as if my weekend was made.
But no things have got better since as I have discovered that the book is now available on Amazon UK and Amazon.com. Knowing the book was going into distribution was the icing on the cake.
I had planned to work on my new novel today, but so far with everything that has been going on I've been unable to do so.
It's days like this that make all the hard work worth while.
I've said it before and I'll probably say it again.
I love being a writer as you never know what is going to happen from day to day.
And today is one I will not forget in a hurry.

Memories of summer's past

It is very hot at the moment where I live in the UK, and if the weather forecasters are to be believed it is going to get even hotter before the end of the week.
It was so warm last night I was unable to sleep and I started thinking back about the summers I've experienced over the years.
When I was at Primary School, we lived in a house in the country which had a big back garden.
During those years I spent a lot of time reading and also writing short stories.
Some summers stick out.
There was one when there was a radio programme about ancient Egypt being broadcast quite regularly. I remember sitting on the back step of the house listening to it.
Then there was the time I rode my bicycle around the garden all summer.
I say rode, but to be perfectly honest I spent most of the time trying to stay on it.
By the time I was in Secondary School we had moved into the town and summer's changed completely.
I spent time going to the cinema, going shopping, ten pin bowling and going out on coach trips to places like Oxford.
After I left school my parents bought their own business and we moved to a village just outside of Dover.
Summer's there were full of reading and long walks along the cliffs during the day and also of an evening when it was cooler.
After my parent's retirement we moved a few miles along the coast. This time we were right by the sea.
Summers's changed again. Reading, walking along the beach, day trips on a coach and holidays to places including Dorset and Devon.
The holiday to Dorset stands out as I came home with a whole load of books in my suitcase which I hadn't taken with me.
Well you know what it's like when you see a book shop and you can't decide exactly which book you would like to buy.
And now summers have changed again.
Both my parents are now deceased and I'm living in the middle of England with my partner.
I know exactly what I'll be doing this summer: the two things I love the most.
I'll be reading and writing my second novel.
However you have spent your summer's in the past I hope you have an enjoyable one this year that will remain in your memory for many years to come.

The inspiration behind the book

I was asked the other day where I got the idea for A Murder Is Foreseen.
It was in fact a number of different things that all came together to create the story.
When it comes to the character of Anya Harding she is a Reiki Master Teacher. As a Reiki Master Teacher myself I was giving her a profession that I knew and I would feel happy writing about.
When it comes to Anya's clairvoyance I have taken a clairvoyant development course, so again it is a subject I know about.
Over the years I have read about witchcraft and I felt confident that I knew enough about to be able to write about it in the books.
I had a number of thoughts that kept going round my head.
What would happen if a person suddenly became clairvoyant?
What would their reaction be?
Who would they turn to?
Then if they started having dreams and visions about a murder that had not yet happened what would they do about it?
Could the murder be stopped or not?
From all this came the book.
I did have writers block and have to walk away from it at times. But I found that when I did walk away I found it easier to think through the block and find a way forward.
And now I have a confession to make.
I have a number of ideas for future books in the series, but today a completely different "What If?" popped into my head and it isn't going away.
It looks as if the book I had been planning as the second in the series will have to become the third!
