Barry R. Davis, M.D., Ph.D., is a public health physician, biostatistician, and Professor Emeritus at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health. He has spent his career studying how evidence can prevent disease, disability, and death before they occur. He directed or helped lead major clinical trials in hypertension and cardiovascular prevention, including landmark studies that changed medical practice.

His book, The Preventioneers: Diseases, Disasters, and the Discoveries That Changed Our World, tells the stories of people who recognized danger early, gathered evidence, challenged resistance, and helped society prevent tragedy.
