Success Spring Summit 2017
[image error]
The most important item in your room is neither your TV nor your refrigerator. It’s not your bed and never your ceiling fan, tables and chairs. The most important item in your room is YOU. This is because if you lose everything, but still get YOU, you can bounce back and get everything you lose again. However, if you lose yourself, but get everything, the “everything” cannot bounce back and get you.
For this reason, the 2017 Edition of Success Spring Summit is not about bed linen or car batteries; it not about TV remotes and not about shoe polish. It is simply about YOU. You will have the opportunity to know yourself better and stand on that well discovered YOU to change your world. Anything about YOU, take it serious!
Let’s meet again.

Leaders are DISCIPLES
A disciple means “a learner” or “a student.” Anyone who does not learn cannot lead and anyone who is not trained cannot reign. Anyone who is humble to know will become prepared to grow. Leadership is discipleship.
You can’t give what you don’t have. If you have little, you can only give little. If you have more, you can give either little or more. What you have will determine what you will give. This is why a leader needs to load himself with knowledge and skills and be at the top of affairs in all things.
One major characteristic of a good disciple is the ability to love what you were being disciplined to learn. If you hate the work you do, you will do it with a heavy heart. You will hate your trainer and you can’t be a sincere disciple. No wonder some leaders become manipulators. The simple reason is that they were found at places they’re not happy to be; it’s a place they’re not supposed to be.
The greatest leader ever in history, Jesus Christ demonstrated leadership skills and gave us the grace to go in the footprint of these principles. His message is about love.
Be willing to learn. The more you learn, the better you lead.
Do what you love. You can’t improve what you have no sense of passion for.
Walk in the footprint of leaders and make many more disciples.
When you practice all these, “men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another”, said Jesus Christ (John 13:34-35). Love everyone including those who drive you crazily.

Leaders are CHANGE-MAKERS
The goal of a leader is to contribute to the improvement and growth of the organization he leads. If your knowledge and attitude rather impedes the growth of the organization you lead, you are a misleader.
As a co-operate leader, ensure that the organization you lead does not remain as it was when you were given the mandate to lead it. Make it better than it was. Improve and increase; don’t demote and destroy what was rather working already.
Leadership is about action, never about position. While you occupy the position try to find an opportunity to make a change. A person who would not make a positive change is not fit to lead. If what the group you lead achieved last year is what it maintained this year, where are your skills?
To change the world, decide to change yourself first. If you change, your family is changing. If your family changes, your community is changing. If your community changes, your nation is changing. If your nation changes, your continent is changing. If your continent changes, the world have changed. Look to yourself first.
Begin to lead the change; others will follow you. That’s the power of influence.
Don’t keep doing same things; innovate and improve. Leaders grow day by day.
You can change the world one man at a time.
Remember, the real work depends on you. “Be the change you wish to see in the world”, said Mahatma Gandhi. I believe when you begin to be the change, everyone will want to learn from you about how you are doing it. There and then, you teach them to know and you are called a leader.

Leaders are BRAVE
Cowards don’t lead; they will infect their followers with the germs of fear. When this happens, work output reduces and failure becomes possible. People may not physically die due to fear, but their dreams do. Fear is a dangerous infection!
A group of sheep led by a lion will defeat a group of lions led by a sheep. Success of a group depends on the person who leads it. That is why no organization can grow above the knowledge, skills and attitude of its leaders.
Leaders are not afraid of what might go wrong. They are always daring to see what might be right. Cowardice confines people in a narrow corner of mediocrity. Bravery exposes the leader to stronger territories for extensive dominion.
To be brave does not mean you will not encounter failure. It does not mean you are immune to adversity. “Brave means knowing when you fail, you don’t fail forever”, said Lana Del Rey.
Leaders approach every dream with a positive mindset. That is the winning power.
Never see a challenge to be stronger than you; else you increase its power over you.
Try doing what others say cannot be done and you’ll surprise everyone including pessimists.
Courageous leaders inspire their followers to believe in the seemingly impossible. One thing you should know is that, your obstacles are like thick walls with no strong foundations. Their fall is just a matter of your blow striking them down. If you fear the size of the wall and do not consider the weakness of its base, you cannot bring it down.
You can overcome any challenge at all provided you are bold enough to go after the difficult thing.

Leaders take ACTIONS
Leaders make things happen. Things happen when people move into actions. When actions are taken, things change. When better actions are taken things change for the better. Leaders don’t harbour problems and challenges for too long. They work on problems and overcome challenges with their inherent strengths. It is only mentally lazy people who sleep together with their problems and wake up together with them unsolved.
Nothing changes until your actions change them. The size of your hips may change; the strength of your muscles may also change, but your life will never change if you don’t act!
In taking actions for the success of the team, leaders know who to assign to which task and why. They assign duties to capable people and delegate competent staffs for jobs.
In order for the organization to achieve its goals, the leader must put his team members at relevant posts. They must study the skills and talents of their staffs and avoid giving responsibilities to people who cannot handle them. To lead better, stop talking and start walking. Move and make things happen.
When you do nothing, you get nothing.
If you aren’t moving, you haven’t dreamt yet. You only had nightmares.
Don’t watch things to happen; they won’t.
No matter how slow you walk, you are doing better than the person who does not walk at all. Lao Tzu said; “an ant on the move does more than a dozing ox.” After making the plans and setting your goals, don’t wait for a whistle to blow before you make a move. Start immediately. That’s the spirit of leadership.

Break out to go out
The birds dare to break the egg shell
It does so in order to get out of that Hell
When it finally succeeds, it’ll then fly
To its comfort zone it’ll say bye
Are you being confined in a small space
How long will you remain at that place?
Before you can explore more territories,
Break away from the former glories.
Yesterday’s excellence is today’s average
You must strive to be better age after age
Never accept the available mediocrity
As the only preferable opportunity
Decide to grow from below to hero
And make it a point to vacate level zero
Reach out and arise with power
God’s blessings on you, will shower
Agree to grow, never attempt to be slow
Be not afraid. Never doubt. You’ll flow
The grace of God will be your guide
Taking you along, side by side.

7 Reasons why we waste our time easily
1. We think there is enough time: After all it is easy to take for granted whatever is marginally available for free. In our day to day lifestyles, anything we have in abundance is what we take for granted. Whatever is scarce is whatever we are careful of losing. Because it seemed tomorrow has “more time”, we are likely to let today’s time slip away. I have learnt that people whose days are estimated by the doctor to be short seem to work harder than usual. This is because they know there is not enough time on their sides.
2. The punishment is always at the end: We are not punished for a wasted time; we are punished by a wasted time. We miss opportunities we look for and never get and this alone it a regrettable punishment. However, the punishment never comes at the beginning; it always at the last end and this accounts for the reason why we are good at wasting time.
3. We don’t learn time management: Everything you can do must be learnt; if you learnt it better, you will do it better. If you refuse to learn, you will use wrong methods that won’t give you the right use of time. Time management is a whole concept that everyone must learn. You will be happy managing your time because you will discover that you could do a lot at a limited time.
4. We give our jobs to others to do for us: It is obvious that when you depend on others for them to do your work for you, you may end up delaying your time for success. Everybody is busy with something and you got to be busy too. Your actions may not be regular and consistent when lay your hopes on the laps of other people. Do it yourself and rescue your visions.
5. We don’t plan our time: If you don’t plan your time, you will end up wasting a big chunk of your life. How you spend each day will determine how you will spend your years and how you will spend your years will tell what you will achieve in your entire life. If you live each day unplanned, you will end up wasting your lifetime. If you waste your lifetime, your dreams won’t survive.
6. We get distracted easily: Events, entertainments, social media and other stuffs can eat up our major time. Silently, less important tasks can also entice us to waste our time in the sense that they hook us unto doing something that won’t create any value for us. Time wasting is not a synonym of “idleness.” Some people who are up to some tasks even waste their time more because those tasks play no relevant roles in saving their dreams from dying.
7. We wait for perfect conditions: Perfect conditions never exist. If you wait for things to be right before you begin, you will die and carry your big dreams to the silent cemetery untouched. Desire for “perfection” before you start is an illness that can take your dreams to the grave untouched. Swallow this pill from Martin Luther King Jr.; “Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
“Punctuality is not just limited to arriving at a place at right time; it is also about taking actions at right time.” – Amit Kalantri.
Be circumspect and make good use of time; when it is wasted, it can’t be regained!
