Cartoon: The Flintstones
Fred and Wilma because Fred is constantly getting himself into trouble, but he means well. Regardless of his issues, Wilma still loves him.

TV Sitcom: Friends and How I Met Your Mother
Whether it's Monica and Chandler or Lily and Marshall, both couples have a strong female supporting a loving yet dopey guy. No matter how many times their men put their foot in their mouths, the couple still comes out on top.

Literature: Harry Potter Series
Ron and Hermione fall into the same realm as my other choices. Ron is the everyman that never quite knows what to say. He has good intentions always, but his delivery often gets blundered. Hermione can get annoyed with this, but she still falls for him just the same.

I believe I chose these characters because I identify with their dynamics. In my own relationship, I can find myself being the dopey guy with good intentions that will find myself chewing shoe leather. Luckily I have an amazing woman that is willing to put up with me anyway.(less)

#FictionFriday Review: Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel

The greatest thing I can say about this book is that I wanted to enjoy it so much. The key to that statement is that of a single word, wanted. Sleeping Giants has a great hook about discovering pieces of a giant robot buried underground in locations all across the globe. A million questions fly through your mind concerning what and where this giant robot came from. And I might be the only one, but Read more of this blog post »
