Fading
I am so excited to announce the first book in my paranormal romance series, The Fading Series. Fading, Book One will release on April 10, 2018!
Seventeen-year-old, Leath Elliott lives with her mother in the microscopic town of Woodvine, North Carolina. Leath's father was killed in a tragic accident when she was fourteen, and her friend Victor Santana has been there for her every step of the way since. But the friendship starts to change when Victor develops deeper feelings for Leath. If that wasn’t complicated enough, newcomer James Turner, an emancipated minor with a dark past, wanders into her sights. Leath is captivated by him and wonders if he might be the boy of her dreams—literally.
I hope you all will love Fading as much as I do :)

Excerpt from The Circle
Please enjoy another brief excerpt. Don't forget to enter my giveaway :)
“Mrs. Ranson…” said Laurel.
“Call me Kenzie.”
“Okay.” Laurel smiled at her. “Kenzie, I saw some sticks in a vase in the game room. Are they for Wrecks?”
Calum gave his mom a quick glance. He had forgotten to put them away before Laurel arrived.
“No. Those are Particulars. They’re actually quite rare. That set has been in our family for almost a hundred years,” said Kenzie.
“What are they for?” asked Laurel.
“They predict the future,” said Kenzie, matter-of-factly.
Gus coughed and looked at her in disbelief.
“Cool,” said Laurel. “How?”
“Go get ‘em and I’ll show you,” said Kenzie.
“Are you sure that’s a good idea?” Gus asked as soon as Laurel was out of earshot.
“It’s fine,” said Kenzie. “She’ll think it’s a parlor game. Besides, I’m curious about her.”
Laurel returned and set a green vase on the table. It was filled with wooden twigs in varying lengths and colors. Some straight, others twisted.
“Draw the one that calls to you,” said Kenzie.
Laurel examined the twigs and chose a honey-colored one that was thinner than the rest.
“This makes sense,” said Kenzie. Secrets. You’re going to tell one and learn one.”
“So cool,” said Laurel. “Are the predictions always the same?”
“No,” said Kenzie. “It depends on a lot of things: the date, the moon’s phase, who’s drawing the twig, and what’s in their heart.”
“You do it, Calum,” said Laurel.
Calum shrugged. He studied the twigs and drew a yellow one decorated with golden circles. He handed it to Kenzie. Her eyes met Calum’s as she said, “Rescue.”
Calum stared at the twig. Rescue? Finley?

Excerpt from The Circle
I hope you enjoy this brief excerpt from The Circle :)
Calum drummed his fingers on the desk as he watched them leave the store. He wanted to know more about Laurel and her
interest in faeries. Or maybe he just wanted to know more about her.
Calum wondered what Laurel thought about him, although he didn’t know why it should matter. He hid between the stacks,
quietly following them through the bookstore, listening to their
conversation.
“Well?” asked Andrea, as they approached the door.
“He seems nice,” Laurel said in a hushed whisper. “Not at all weird like John Phillip said. And he doesn’t seem to mind
that Dad’s going to be the assistant principal. Maybe I could be friends with a boy.”
“Imagine that,” said her mother as they closed the door.
“Imagine that,” said Calum. He watched through the window as a car rolled to a stop in front of the bookstore.

SC Book Festival
Last weekend I participated in the SC Book Festival. This is a three-day event held each May in Columbia, SC. It is a fairly large event with an estimated attendance of 6,000 people all looking to connect with authors.
I enjoyed meeting and speaking with current (and hopefully future) fans of The Circle. Since being home I've answered many emails from festival folks who read The Circle. They wanted to ask personal questions about the characters, their motivations, and what's in store for Calum, Hagen, and Laurel as well as The Sidhe Series.
The SC Book Festival was a lovely event, and one I recommend to other writers and readers.
