Vanessa Russell is the author of THE WORLD IS NOT BIG ENOUGH, a non-fiction exploration of the multi-layered and often untold story of the mandatory detention of asylum seekers in Australia. She is also the author of HOLY BIBLE, a novel about a religious family who believe the Gulf War will bring the apocalypse. Her writing has been published in various newspapers and journals around the world. She has a PhD in creative writing from the University of Melbourne, where she taught media writing for eight years. She currently teaches English.
