This fugue state, once I recognize it for what it is, is solved by either making a note to explore it later, or dismiss it, but always, ALWAYS get back to the writing. The only time I get writers block is in the post-partum days after finishing a project, and I'm trying to decide what to do next. (less)
PLOTTINGI write most short stories by the seat of my pants. So far, I've had 22 of these stories accepted for publication, so 'pantsing' works for that format.
