Josh Wood is a native of Amarillo, Texas. He and his wife, Careese, are graduates of Texas A&M University (Gig ’em). Josh went on to obtain his MBA from Baylor University (Sic ’em).

Newly wedded Josh and Careese made a number of definitive statements regarding their future, including the following classics: “We’ll never move back to Amarillo.” “We’ll have three or four kids. Those kids will never throw fits in Walmart.” “We’ll never home school our children.” “Home churches are weird.”

They live in Amarillo. They have ten kids. They home school. They started a home church. They’ve wiped numerous tears off the Walmart floor. Their hobbies include raising children and trying to avoid definitive statements about their future.

Our adoption story

Since many have asked, I thought I would give a little more background on our recent adoption story.

The following is the text of a speech our daughter, Faith, gave recently. You’ll find a short background of our adoption story in the second section of her speech; but I’m posting the whole speech A) for context; and, B) it gives me an excuse to brag about my daughter to the world…because we’re Read more of this blog post »

Josh Wood said: " I give this book 5 stars. Full disclosure: I wrote it. My mom would totally give it 5 stars. She said it was wonderful. Since she’s not on Goodreads, I feel moderately justified. "

Quotes by Josh Wood (?)

“Josh’s father felt Josh should bond with his fellow injured patients in the ward. This was something I really dissuaded Josh from doing. I didn’t want him to hear the hardships, battles, and frustrations that others were going through. I also didn’t want Josh to take on their fears and frustrations. We were always pleasant and polite to everyone else in the ward, but my only concern was Josh, and it was enough for us to focus just on his issues. I found the whole Acute Spinal Ward experience extremely negative and distressingly sad with no great healing or recovery objective. The message from the medical team was always, without fail, acceptance of the prognosis. This was totally the opposite message of what we presented and instilled into Josh. We slowly gained evidence that our non-traditional approach was working.”

Willing To Review Christian Group — 743 members — last activity 1 hour, 13 min ago
This is a group of Christians or people who are willing to review books from authors or writers from many different genres of Christian literature (MA This is a group of Christians or people who are willing to review books from authors or writers from many different genres of Christian literature (MAINLY, NEW AUTHORS AND STRUGGLING AUTHORS WHO NEED EXPOSURE ) If you are willing to review a book for a struggling or up and coming author please join the group. “AUTHORS” post your work on the book shelf, (Please don’t post any books, unless you are the author of that book) and want a review done of your work “AND” you are willing to send the willing reviewer a free copy of your book to be reviewed. After you post your book, leave a comment in the discussion board with info about yourself, so that the willing reviewer who has interest in reviewing your book can contact you, letting you know that they are interested and willing to review your book……. "WILLING" reviewers, please place your review here on Goodreads . “AUTHORS” Don’t worry if you get more than one person willing to review your work; that's a plus! The more exposure you get the better for your book, especially if you get good reviews. This will be up to you “the author” about how many reviewers you decide to send your book to. This is good for reviewers too; they can get overloaded with books and the work becomes tedious, so this way even a reviewer can limit how many books they are willing to review. I encourage authors and reviewers to join this group, because there are authors who also review. “AUTHORS” UNFORTUNATELY, even though you place your book on the bookshelf and post info about your book in the discussion board, does not guarantee you will get someone to review your work; all you can do is display your works here, and ask if anyone is willing to review your book. Every so often, I will send out a message to all the members, informing them of authors who are interested in a book review, so potential reviewers can look on the bookshelf and in the discussion board, to see if there are any books that they are willing to review. Let’s have fun! Thank You and God Bless. ...more
