RiddleQuest interview
If you have an opportunity, listen in to 3CR’s interview with me about the Riddle-Quest series. Their program, ‘Published or Not’, looks at works by established authors and self published authors and goes to air every Thursday at 11.30am. Their programs are podcast for several weeks after that.

Riddle-Quest book launch
Thanks to everyone who helped last week’s book launch go with such a zing! Special thanks to the very entertaining Neville Clark for his eloquent review of Riddle-Quest and his summation of my background and accomplishments. Many thanks to Martin Richardson for his support. Thanks also to William McCraw for setting up an exhibition of his work, including a digital slideshow of the drawings and concepts for the Riddle-Quest series. The time flew, the wine flowed and I barely drew breath adding a flourish to every copy sold on the day.

Riddle-Quest Book 1 arrives!
It is exciting to actually hold the finished product after the months of writing, editing and producing the book. Now we just need to wait for Wheels & Water and The Fifth Staff to be completed!
The first book in the Riddle-Quest series is hot off the press!

David McLean
Me, myself, David McLean
Author, broadcaster, actor, educator
I hereby launch this blog – bless her and all who sail in her. I was going to call it What to Expect When You Quit Your Day Job.
My adventures in the last few years have included 2 years in Indonesia, 7 theatre productions (2 acting awards), 4 books published, a clutch of educational products, a regular broadcast gig and several litres of red wine!
My day job is now spread across writing (though frankly the proof reading, editing and production process seems to take longer than producing the original text!), interviewing authors, treading the boards and assorted workshops. Life is never dull and the variety keeps me young at heart despite the graying temples.
This blog has been created mostly due to pestering from my publisher who feels that the diverse websites, books and radio programmes need a centrepoint – a place where my diversity can be brought together in an attempt at cohesion .
Feel free to add your thoughts.
