Joe Writeson's Blog: From Jarrow to .......the World

Spiteful and defamotory review.

How does an author go about getting rid of a review that clearly contravenes Amazon's Guidelines, not once but four times, yet complaints to Amazon 'Help' receive the response 'Read the Amazon Guidelines'

The poster of the review also stated on a Facebook Forum that his intention was to 'Bring me down to size' for being 'getting too big for my boots'

Amazon 'Help' now refuse to answer any emails from me ... yet of course still ask for my 'support' in their battles with Hachette.

I can take constructive criticism and I also accept that not everyone will 'like' my work. But when a someone posts that readers should 'ignore positive reviews because they are clearly from friends' there is something wrong with the Amazon System.

Nearly February already....

Massive computer problems, so online activities severely curtailed, which prompts the observation that without a computer or an internet connection, the chances of any new writer getting read/noticed/published is absolute ZILCH!

How many times have we seen the notice DO NOT SEND UNSOLICITED MANUSCRIPTS, so how would a poor person living a frugal life off the beaten track get a possible literary masterpiece under the noses of a potential publisher, forget it... chances are there is a Hemmingway, Wilde, Lawrence, King, Austen, Rowling sitting this very minute using their manuscript to start a cooking fire... why don't some of the big publishing houses set up 'lower income user friendly' channels? I know, there would alwas be those who wold abuse the system, that's life....

....my the view from this high horse is grand this morning....

December 2013

Well back to square one... dropped by publisher because my expectations were too high ...and my schedule was driven by poverty and my bad health...just wish they had decided this back in June and not six months into getting ready to publish... time is not my best asset and now I have to start all over again...so if anyone out there knows of any publishers currently accepting submissions I would love to hear from you...

Thanks in advance...

Joe

From Jarrow to Java - offline

Hi everybuddy...

In its current format 'From Jarrow to Java' is in the process of being removed from various online sources.

I have been self-publishing with varying degrees of success for nearly four months and it is now time to move on and up.

I have been offered a contract by the Canadian publishing group 'Writers AMuse Me' or 'WAMM' and they will be launching the book in all formats early in 2014.

I will remain active in this forum and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone so far for their support and constructive advice.

Regards

Joe Writeson
