The Difference Between an Anchor and a Mooring

Somewhere in the middle of writing this book I fell down a hole about the difference between an anchor and a mooring.

A mooring is a permanent thing. Somebody sank it years ago, it lives in one spot, and you tie up to it and stay. Nothing reaches you there. That is the entire point of a mooring, and it is a very good thing to have, and it is not the same as being safe.
