The Nightmare Behind "Open Case"
Hey everyone,
With Open Case: The Mississippi Serial Killer out in the world, I wanted to share a little bit about where the seed for this story came from.
Being born and raised in Mississippi, I wanted to capture that dark, eerie Southern backdrop the kind of small-town atmosphere where everybody thinks they know their neighbors, but secrets are lurking just beneath the surface.
When I sat down to write this, I didn't want to tell just another routine crime story. I wanted to dive into the psychological dread of a killer moving through familiar woods and quiet streets, putting the people closest to the main character directly in the crosshairs.
As a writer, I usually let the story guide me as I go rather than sticking to a rigid outline. That meant as the tension ramped up on the page, I was feeling the suspense right along with the characters. Writing the twists into this book kept me on the edge of my seat, and seeing readers react to those high-stakes moments has been incredible.
If you’ve already picked up a copy, thank you so much for the support! Drop a comment below and let me know what part kept you turning pages late into the night.
If you haven't jumped in yet, Open Case: The Mississippi Serial Killer is available now on Amazon in paperback, eBook, and free on Kindle Unlimited!

Being born and raised in Mississippi, I wanted to use that eerie southern backdrop to answer one terrifying question: What if you move your family away from a dangerous city to protect them, only to step into something way worse?
That’s what happens to the Parker family when they leave Chicago for Natchez, Mississippi. They think they’re safe. But by the end of Chapter One, they realize they just moved straight into an active serial killer's hunting ground.
The Kindle eBook officially releases on June 25th, but the physical paperback actually went live early on Amazon and is shipping right now!
