Joanne Graham lives in rural Mid Devon, UK, with her two children. Being the youngest of five children, her love of the written word began when she would escape the busyness of her childhood home by diving into a good book. She has been writing since the tender age of eleven when her mother bought her a typewriter for her birthday.

Her first book, Lacey's House was published in 2013 and her second book, To the Edge of Shadows was published in 2014.

Joanne facilitates writing groups and courses, details of which can be found here:

I'm not fixed to rigid office hours so I can go for a walk in the sunshine or work at 2 inthe morning if insomnia bites.

Also, it has always been a dream of mine, since I was a little girl, to be a writer. The best thing is seeing the manifestation of that dream and finally being able to say that I write for a living.(less)

I'll focus on potential new characters or storys, start writing a timeline for another book, get some rudimentary ideas down. I guess I try to distract myself in the hope that my subconscious will come into play, which it usually does.(less)

It’s Been Awhile

I was surprised to see, on logging in to WordPress, that it has been over a year since I posted anything. How incredibly slack of me!

It has been a busy year which has involved working on a screenplay (7th draft and counting) and plotting, planning and beginning the third book. But that’s no excuse. I must try harder.

And so (one of) my New Years resolutions for 2016 will be to try a bit harder with

Joanne’s Quotes

“I love every part of the book writing process from the excitement of the initial idea to weaving all the tiny elements of the story from the air. I draw my inspiration from the landscape around me, from quirky characters I meet and from the strange and convoluted thoughts that dance between my ears.”
