When I work at a knotty issue until I have thought myself in circles, I go for a swim. Being immersed in the water, where I am alone with my thoughts, is like meditation. It took some research to track down the information, but once I started talking to the kind folks involved in American Indian education programs (their words for it), the project took on a life of its own. The Rio Grande Incident

Years ago, I read a self-published book called America Libre, by Raul Ramos y Sanchez, that had been submitted to a contest. The writing had some flaws typical of a self-edited piece, but the premise was brilliant . . . and frighteningly plausible. I have never forgotten it.

Laura Cottam Sajbel Annie Murphy Paul's commentary is certainly interesting, about the reading comprehension of children looking at interactive books. Thought-provoking.
