Lorrie Cox is an Oregon author, REALTOR®, and Principal Broker with eXp Realty in Woodburn, Oregon. Known to her clients as “Your Voice in Real Estate,” she specializes in senior real estate transitions, downsizing, probate real estate, and 55+ communities throughout the Greater Woodburn and Willamette Valley area.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Lorrie learned about caregiving at an early age while helping raise her younger siblings following her mother’s diagnosis with multiple sclerosis. Before becoming a real estate professional in 2012, she built a successful career in management with the State of Oregon and the Reynolds and Parkrose school districts.

Lorrie married John Jay Cox, her childhood first love, in July 1997. Together, they blended a lively household of six teenagers, a dog, and two cats. In January 2007, John was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia, also known as FTD. Lorrie cared for him at home throughout their eight-year journey, supported by their family, church community, and hospice. John participated in research at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center under Dr. Bruce Miller and donated his brain and spinal cord to advance Frontotemporal Dementia research following his death on March 2, 2015.
Drawing from this deeply personal experience, Lorrie wrote Still Holding Hands: Walking the Frontotemporal Dementia Journey with Faith, Honesty, and Hope, a heartfelt memoir and caregiver guide offering encouragement, practical insight, and Christian hope to dementia caregivers and families. She also created the Caregiver’s Companion Journal to Still Holding Hands, providing caregivers with a private place for reflection, prayer, planning, and emotional support.
Her novel, The Long Way Back to Love, is inspired by the true story of childhood sweethearts who find their way back to one another. Lorrie plans to continue writing fiction centered on Josie’s life, relationships, faith, family, resilience, grief, and the unexpected chapters that shape a woman’s journey.
Lorrie is a widow, mother of four adult children, grandmother, former long-term caregiver, Christian, world traveler, and passionate advocate for families affected by Frontotemporal Dementia.
