Spring has arrived in Scotland – the daffodils and crocuses are in bloom, with tulips soon to follow, and… I have finished Crow book 9!��

The Gilded Nest is now available for preorder and will be released in ebook, paperback and hardback on 13th May! The audiobook will not be far behind, with the production company aiming for an August 7th release.

After eight books in the series, I was wondering what the brilliant cover designer would come up with for The Gilded Nest.

As always, I think he’s done a wonderful job!��It looks like a Crow Investigations book, but is (I think) striking and appropriate to the story… Yes, there’s quite a lot of blood in this one.

I had a new idea recently which involved rewriting the last third��of the book. I’m very happy with it, and know it will make the book much stronger, but still… sigh!

So, what have I been up to? I’ve moved house and, in between unpacking boxes, renovation work, and wondering what colour to paint my new office, I’ve been busy writing the follow up to The Ward Witch.

I have fallen even more deeply in love with Unholy Island and these characters and I can’t wait to share this story with you! The sequel is called The Book Keeper and it’s out on 22nd February 2024.
