أستاذ الأدب والنقد الحديث بجامعة الأقصى بغزة. ولد في خيمة من خيام الأمم المتحدة عام 1952، في مخيم الشوا بمدينة غزة، لأبوين مهاجرين من قرية الجِيَّة بجنوبي فلسطين.
