I am pleased to announce that “The Bluestocking and the Rake” has been selected as the 2014 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award winner for the Romance category.

From a starting number of 10,000 entries spread over five categories, various stages of judging has whittled that number down to one from each category. Now public vote decides which one of the five will be the Grand Prize Winner.

– book 3 of my Regency Gentlemen series is now on Amazon. This is for all the lovely ladies who have supported me, who have sent me emails and kind words of encouragement, and for everyone who wanted Emma and Marcus’s story – I really hope you enjoy it.

This was actually the first book I wrote, but it became too long and so I decided to break the Duke of Malvern and Louisa out into their own book (A Gentleman and a Scoundrel) to give more focus to my central characters.

I am happy to have finished it at last – my only regret is that my Mum isn’t here to read it. I was writing this book for her when she died suddenly of a stroke and it will always be a regret of mine that she never got to read a word of anything I have written.

Anyway, hopefully she’s in heaven now and they have e-reading devices up there!

Here it is! My second ebook , “The Bluestocking and the Rake” is now on the virtual shelves at Amazon with other formats to come shortly.

This story is loosely connected to the first book, concerning the Earl of Marcham who rather took my fancy as I was writing “A Gentleman and a Scoundrel”. It was fun to develop him as a character and fall ever so slightly in love with him (apologies to my husband at this point!).

I hope everyone enjoys reading it because I had a great time writing it.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who took a chance on a new author. I have been overwhelmed by the response and flattered that many of you liked my first book.

I certainly seem to have created a heroine who polarises opinion! But then the heroine, Horry in “The Convenient Marriage” by Georgette Heyer, was similarly criticised, and Scarlett O’Hara had her tantrum moments, so I guess I’m in good company!

Thank you to all who have taken the time to write reviews too. Whether you liked it or not, I value your opinion – it all helps me grow as a writer.

I can safely promise you that my next heroine will be far more grown up!
