Helen Corcoran was born and raised in Ireland, but is more likely to go searching for a werewolf than a crock of gold at the end of a rainbow. She worked as a bookseller for twelve years, with a specific interest in fantasy and YA fiction, which she also writes. She currently lives in Dublin, cultivating a budding caffeine addiction while her book collection threatens to take over her house.

Queen of Coin and Whispers is her debut YA novel. The sequel Daughter of Winter and Twilight will be published in 2023.

November

I realised that apart from structural housekeeping on the website, I haven’t done a general update here… at all this year.

So. Here be an update!

It’s less than five months to Queen of Coin and Whispers being published! It’s currently available to preorder through two Irish book retailers: Eason and Dubray. (More preorder links to come, likely next month or early 2020.) Please consider preordering

“Lish tried to swear--which is always funny, because the computer won't translate it. It went something like this: "Bleep stupid bleep bleep faeries and their bleep bleep bleep obsessions. He had better stop bleep bleep bleep the bleep bleep rules or I will bleep bleep bleep the little bleeeeeeeeeeep.”
Kiersten White, Paranormalcy

“Yes, I have a driver's license."

I leaned back against the wall, sighing. "Man, that must be so cool."

"It ranks right up there with lockers. In fact, sometimes I put my license inside my locker, and it's so cool I worry that the whole thing might explode with the sheer coolness of it all.”
Kiersten White, Paranormalcy

“If your daily life seems poor, do not blame it; blame yourself, tell yourself that you are not poet enough to call forth its riches; for to the creator there is no poverty and no poor indifferent place.”
