Simon Beecher grew up in England and is married with a teenage daughter (HELP). Since his formative years he has always been fascinated with anything Apocalyptic / Fantasy / Science Fiction. His favorite author is Stephen King and his influence on his imagination over the years is the person to blame for his books. This influence has caused him to have a real interest in apocalyptic scenario's and the dark tales of suspense and horror. He has lots of ideas that he wants to develop into story's and hopes to unleash his thoughts upon the world at large. So turn the lights down low, pour yourself a drink and immerse yourself in the tales he has conjured up from the darkest corners of his imagination. ...more

The first book that really stood out in my mind as a child was J. R. R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. It fed my growing imagination and opened up to me a world full of mythical creatures, but more importantly it showed me that whether it be a fictional world or the real world there is and always will be a battle between good and evil.
But to answer your question fully I would say that when I read Salem's Lot by Stephen King I was well and truly hooked. Many people will disagree with me but IMHO Stephen King is the master and if you want to start on a journey that you will not ever want to end READ The Dark Tower series of books. They're horror, suspense, science fiction, and fantasy all mixed together, but be warned you will get hooked on them. (less)
