F. Lee Cooper is a U.S. military veteran, lifelong reader, gamer, and fantasy writer who has lived across the United States and in the United Kingdom. He currently resides in the Midwestern United States with his wife and their dogs.

He is living with cancer, so much of his writing happens from home, in a recliner, usually with Cassie, the cattle dog, close beside him. She serves as writing companion, emotional support, and unofficial office supervisor—requesting attention and reminding him when it is time to eat or go to bed.
