Matthew "Monty" Montgomery is a retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant, former Department of the Air Force civilian leader, Director of a School of Aviation, author, and songwriter. After more than twenty years of military service, he continued his commitment to public service and education by helping develop future aviation professionals. His passion for history began at an early age and developed into a lifelong fascination with military campaigns, leadership, and the individuals who endure periods of profound change. While stationed in Germany, he visited Roman historical sites including Trier and Pompeii, as well as museums throughout Europe—experiences that deepened his interest in ancient history and inspired his writing.
