Barrett Richey has been working as a contractor for the US Department of Defense for the past twenty-six years. His work has taken him on navy ships, to various bases around the world, and to the Near East during Desert Storm. He spent countless hours on and around boats while growing up in Michigan, and he spent two seasons on his uncle’s fishing boat on Lake Erie before going to university. When not working, writing, or spending time with his wife, he can be found along the southern California coast in his 1958 Glasspar del Mar, which he restored in his garage.
