The more research an author does, the less it is a fanciful creation of their mind. Now, don't get me wrong, every fiction book needs the author's creation of an engaging fictional story - this is what separates us from AI as writers and readers. But research and researched details are the foundation of that fictional story. Beyond that, research can help authors discover plot ideas they would have never thought of. (less)
