Ruth Delacourt was raised in the United States and came to Britain as a postgraduate student, eventually making her home in the English countryside. Since then, her life has been shaped by transatlantic travel, long-distance family ties and raising children in a French-British household.
Living between countries, cultures and family histories has given her a close view of how the past travels with us. That experience underpins
The House in Elmhurst, her first novel, a work of fiction informed by lived experience.

She welcomes invitations from book clubs, libraries and independent bookshops for discussions, readings and author events.
