James Gilmartin is the author of multiple short stories, three screen-plays (they'll eventually be movies, I promise), two novels, and a children's books. He has more in the works, and once he finds the time, will have them complete and posted on every e-book publishing site he can find. James also likes to create book covers, attempts blogging, has aspirations to start a podcast, and plans to film short video-films and a web series by the end of summer, 2015. If you brainstorm enough before sitting down to write, you won't have a problem with writer's block. Now, with story development, I meet a blockade there, and I believe every writer does. For that, I'll step away for an hour or two and either take a walk, watch a movie, read a book, play a video game, see a friend, pray and meditated (on things other than the story), drive around, or play a game with my children. I enjoy every moment of pacing in my office, walking down my neighborhood at the midnight hour, or driving silently in my car as I contemplate and brainstorm a story. I love talking to myself and hold conversations between myself, God, and the other characters. I love dreaming about the stories as they develop. Now, don't get me wrong, I love writing the story and I even enjoy revising and editing it. But, brainstorming is my favorite. (less)
