Creating Life

Just like spring droplets of water on brand new leaves, each day is something new. You have the chance to do things and really follow through. We live our lives too fast and everything rushes by. But we have time, and the time is now.

How many dreams have you had in your lifetime? Have all of your dreams been fulfilled or do you still have a bucket list?

Most people at mid-life start to think about things that they wanted to do when they were younger. Some people were fortunate enough to be able to do all the things they wanted to while others want to kick themselves. No need for that. You are only as old as you feel and honestly there are a lot of other things that you can add to that bucket list to make your life complete.

There will always those dreadful "what ifs", BUT, that can be turned around in any situation. People drive themselves nutty when they think about those "what ifs". Here is what you do. Take a piece of paper and write down your hobbies and interests. When you have completed your list, go down to each one and write something that you want to do relating to that hobby or interest.

Once you see that those goals are in reach, you will start to feel like you have done something. For example, have you ever wanted to skydive? In that situation, you would write down what relates to that. Lots of freedom, seeing the wide open spaces and feeling the rush of the wind as you slice through the sky with your body. There are a lot of things that you can do to get that same rush. If you like heights like that, you could go up to the mountains. There are many trails laid out for the hiker as well as many view points for those who don't want to or can't get up that hill. Take a camera with you and look out over the valley. The amazing trails that you see with your eyes will amaze you. The beauty in itself will give you a thrill if you truly let your mind go. Snap, snap, snap!!! All those pictures you will be surprised with what you get and see once you take it home and go over them. Then you share them with whoever you want. Wait until you see how many people will enjoy what you just saw in real life.

This is just a little tidbit of what you can do. I have great ideas for lots of things if you every need some suggestions. Just post a comment and tell me what kinds of things you like and I can suggest some awesome alternatives. Peace be with all of you and keep creating life. Peace Gypsy

Two Girls Save A Seagull

by Peace Gypsy

This is an interview blog. The two girls are Hannah G. and Lacey A. (My daughters)

Today, March 6, 2015, my best friend Lacey and I went to the beach.
When we stepped on the beach and walked next to the water to find a spot to lay out, I had noticed a seagull with a broken wing. I pointed it out to Lacey, and we instantly had the same idea of trying to get the bird help.

We walked alongside the bird for quite some some, trying to build trust so we could catch it. A lifeguard had seen us and Lacey spoke with him asking if there's any way he could help. He told her he was going to call animal control. After waiting half an hour, we heard nothing back and saw no one.
It had been a while of us running up and down the beach trying to keep the bird near us. At one point the bird even got tired so it sat down, and we managed to sit next to it about a foot away maybe less. Now that the bird was resting I called a local animal care center asking if there was anything they could do for it.

The woman I spoke to also told me she was going to call animal control and have them call me. But another while passed and we were on foot again chasing the bird in attempts to capture it. We eventually ended up in a parking lot that had short walls and fences, which was actually perfect because now Lacey and I could try cornering it.

There were two woman watching us with concern, and I said to them "I promise we're not being mean to the bird. We're trying to help it." I explained to them there was a care center near by that we are going to take it to if we catch it. During this explanation we came to a corner with the bird and I managed to get it close enough in the corner that Lacey was able to toss the towel she had on top of it. Then I was about to grab the bird and wrap it up. So I handed it off to Lacey, while she stayed talking to the two women, I ran to get our stuff.

On my way back I called the care center again letting them know we caught it and that we were going to bring it to them. But the woman informed me that there was currently an animal control officer there and he was going to come to us. She instructed us to go to the police base on the pier. The woman Lacey was talking to offered to drive us there. So we did, we drove there and waited for the officer to show up.

I thanked the woman and told her I truly appreciated what she did. She was glad to help. I said to her I'm sure you've got things to do, and she agreed. I told her we'll wait here, and she was kind enough to ask us if we had water and stuff, I told her we're all set. So she left. A few minutes later the animal control officer showed up and took the bird away in a carrier. Unfortunately the they were not allowed to inform us whether or not the bird ended up okay. But spending an hour and a half with it was amazing, I truly hope that seagull is happy we helped.
