Put Away Those Weapons of Mass Distractions If You Want To Write
Many people want to write, but complain that they do not have the time. However, everyone has the same amount of hours in a 24 hour day. The question is how do we utilize our hours effectively to write the story we have been dying to write.
What has worked for me was turning off the number one weapon of mass distraction (which was for me) the TV- I found watching TV made me less productive. (This happened about four years ago.) Once I turned off the black box,I no longer used my time to talk about other people's drama on TV. Instead I decided to create my own in the story of Mr. Wolf v. The Three Pigs. Turning off the TV helped me to free up hours to work on something creative since I was mentally removed from needless distractions. Then I went to my bed earlier. As a result,I could wake up at 4 or 5 in the mornings to write when my house was silent.
The second weapon of mass distraction for me was the Phone. I found it was taking away too much of my time on senseless conversations about the caller's mostly self-made dramas. I had to shut that down.
to be continued Next week I will discuss other weapons of mass distraction that can stop you from writing- Called stop being a firefighter.

What i gave up so we could write.
Writing Mr. Wolf v.The Three Pigs happened by accident. It started with a conversation in the car with my husband as we joked around on our way home from my job as a professor. Somehow our conversation centered around the three pigs, and the question was asked, what would happen if Mr. Wolf took the three pigs to court? As a result, the journey into fiction writing began as I cleared my surrounding of negative people, negative thoughts, television, and focused on this incredible story. Over the next several years,William and I became the voice for Mr. Wolf since he had been rendered voiceless by the three lying pigs. Mr. Wolf's story had to be told,we felt. The world needed to know what really happened on the day in question, and we would help Mr. Wolf tell his story. Consequently, a team of lawyers, professors, and a law student later became part of the wolf pack as they recognized that Mr. Wolf had been defamed. However, this story became possible only after we gave up fear, focused on our creative voices in order to write the story Mr. Wolf needed the world to hear.
