I have always enjoyed writing, from the silly prompts in the back or our standardized reading and writing tests, all the way up to the scribblings in yellow legal pads that I filled by the dozens in intermediate and high school.

I enjoy reading, writing, movies, video games, and playing music. I am a classically trained double bassist (that's upright bass or bull fiddle for the layperson).

I am honored to have a wonderful family, and enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter.

I've only written two novels so far, and they are two of three parts of a story that I've been carrying around in my head for about ten or fifteen years now. I'll let you know when I try to write a new book/series.

That being said, I try to make writing a routine when I can. Sometimes writer's block can be chipped away at if you just get started and keep going for a while. If you come back in another draft and you hate what you wrote, you can always re-write.

I suffer more with "writer's fear" than writer's block. I worry "what if it is no good?" or "am I wasting my time?"

The answer is, yes, to some people. Even if you are Stephen freaking King there are people out there who will leave you nasty reviews. Even people who love Stephen King may love one of his books, but hate another. So just keep writing, because in doing so you will make yourself a better in the process. Keep chipping away.(less)

I sometimes think of it like being a guy sitting by a fire and having people gradually sit down around it, listening to the yarn you are spinning. (less)

It's Been a While

Wow.

2017 was a year. I just logged on to my website and saw that I haven't updated my blog in almost two years. Long story short, I've been going through some personal struggles and the writing had to be sidelined. I'm slowly working my way back to active writing, but I'm not quite there yet.

But I figured that I should probably post something, since I'm paying for this shiny website and all. Jus
