Driving in Cars with Myself

Last night, I got into a discussion with my husband about what we do in the car when we are alone. After he told me what he does, I told him what I do.

Okay, I admit it. In the car I'm very narcissistic. I am either the best singer in the world with a wide range of songs and octaves, or, and this is where things get strange, I pretend to explain to someone what makes my characters tick or where a scene idea came from.

Case in point, a very long time ago, when Larkspur was still just a roleplay character, I played out a scene where she was trying to teach a vampire to sing. The song she was trying to teach him was 'You Are My Sunshine'. Now the kicker to this scene was that as she was trying to get Mr. Vampire to sing while chained to a wall in her playroom, she had her hands on the cords to a lovely set of mini blinds that covered the window looking out over the setting sun and was opening and closing said mini blinds to the beat of the song. Towards the end of the scene, Larkspur got distracted and left the mini blinds open, allowing the sun to flood the room and turn poor Mr. Vampire to dust.

The idea for the scene came one bright morning as the song was sung over and over by several people in a room with, you guessed it, several windows with mini blinds.

Now you know my guilty secret of Driving in Cars with Myself. What's yours?
