Interviews with the Iowa Review and Michigan Quarterly Review

Had the pleasure of doing two interviews, one with the Michigan Quarterly Review’s blog about the idea of literary citizenship and one with the Iowa Review, in which I start out by saying, “I’m not a scientist of anything but my own weird feelings.” It’s true.

SOFT SCIENCE is on some good lists!

By juxtaposing the plastic with organic, she claims all the fallen world and achieves something new here, something rarely seen in poetry: profoundly intelligent work which makes you feel. –Lit Hub

Soft Science was included in some lists of books to watch out for in 2019!

Lit Hub’s “Most Anticipated Books of 2019”

Poems in Waxwing and IthacaLit

Three poems went up in the lovely journal Waxwing this summer:  “DMZ Salpuri,” “They’re Cutting the Ovaries Out of Deer and Laying Them Out on Yoga Mats When They’re Done,” and “What a Cyborg Wants.

I wrote the first poem when I was obsessed with this video, the second when I was obsessed with this news story.

The good folks at IthacaLit also ran a feature on my work, including five poems from my new book, Soft Science–three new ones and two that were previously published in print-only journals.

Also: we’re finishing work on the cover of Soft Science. I can’t wait to show yall!

Here’s a brief write-up about Floating, Brilliant, Gone and an interview where I answer four questions about poetry / responsibility / urgency and also go on a brief tangent about aliens.

Introduction to Quantum Theory

New poem out in The Adroit Journal today! I’ve been challenging myself to write poems with more questions than answers, and this one’s definitely got a lot of questions — some of which I find mildly terrifying.

Thanks due to Martín Espada for this thought experiment (and so many others).
