This is the uncomfortable part where I have to write about myself. So here goes.

I don't claim to be an author, just a tinkerer of story lines and a jumbler of ideas.
If you've enjoyed these books, great!
If you haven't, well . . . that's awkward. Let's just smile stiffly at each other and slowly go our separate ways.
Oh, you're still here? Well, if you want to know more about me, here's the list. I'm married. I have nine kids.
I like my stories because that's t

Yes, a prequel about Lek and Lorixania is coming, but I'm not sure when. I'm still in the planning stages, so likely not for another year or so, sorry.
However, I am releasing a different prequel later this month all about Pere Shin and the servants of Querul that he frees. It's titled, "The Walls in the Middle of Idumea" and is in final prep work right now. It's a shorter read--only about 180 pages. Sign up on my website and you'll get a notification when it's releasing.

I’m staggered to realize it’s been almost a year since I’ve posted! Since last April I’ve moved across the country again (6th time in my life), then moved once more locally while having pneumonia at Christmas, started teaching at a new high school, gained two grandbabies (over a dozen now), and had a host of … Continue reading Audible Audio Virtual Voice Book Here! “You can’t manipulate people who know how to think for themselves.”
Trish Mercer, The Falcon in the Barn

“Group pressure is also a fascinating process to watch. Given enough arguments, time, and stress, even the most resolute and determined man can be made fearful enough to completely reverse his ideals to conform with everyone else.”
Trish Mercer, The Falcon in the Barn

“—fear comes only when you don’t have faith in the outcome. And boredom comes only when you believe there’s nothing new worth learning. I simply can’t understand how any of that will occur today.”

“But for some reason the Department believed all students should learn the exact same way and at the exact same time, demonstrating that no one in Instruction knew the first thing about children.”

“Education can so easily unseat one’s confidence about the truth of the world, Mal noted privately.”

“This is what politics is about, right? We help the people discover the threat to their security, then we provide them with a solution.”
Trish Mercer, The Falcon in the Barn

“This way I’m ‘honored’ without anyone having to actually do, concede, admit, sacrifice, or change anything significant. They just tack a few meaningless letters up on a wall, some self-important men say some forgettable words, a few people cheer without knowing why but do so because it’s expected, and then everyone decides they’re satisfied. That, Peto, is politics.”
"That's rubbish!"
"Same thing.”
