Melanie Turner writes historical mysteries, set in the fictional Rabbit River Valley of southern Oregon in the late 1920s. Her debut novel, The Ashworth Affair, introduced readers to that world, and The Body in Bitter Falls continues the story, with more to come, twenty-six books' worth, if all goes to plan.

She published her first novel at seventy, which feels both very late and exactly on time. The stories had been there a long while; it just took her some years to sit down and write them.

She's a mother and a grandmother, with a large, blended family scattered across California, Oregon, Tennessee, Ohio, and Hong Kong. She's also a pianist, with two albums of her own music on Spotify, Hearthside and Fable. She lives in the P ...more
