Peter Perkins left the world of economics in 2023, which gave him the opportunity to try something completely different. His first book, When Robins Nest, is an accessible, entertaining introduction to opera in the form of eight famous operas retold as eight gripping stories.

Peter lives with his wife and their two cats in the beautiful seaside town of Kleinmond (KLANE-mont) in South Africa. He enjoys walking along the coastline and mountainside, reading, listening to a wide range of music, singing in a choir and quartet, playing a little guitar, cooking (preferably without a recipe), and occasionally – when feeling adventurous – swimming in the chilly Atlantic.
