My life changed in February 2013 when I received a letter telling me I was the beneficiary of a distant relative's will. This was a massive surprise as I had only ever met Kit Hudson once.

A few weeks after I received the executor’s letter, a crate arrived from Greece where Kit had lived for nearly 50 years. Underneath the gifts of oil and soap made from olives from Kit's garden was an old leather box. Inside was a handwritten note that simply said:
