Ohio-born, the author was fortunate to have a father and mother who loved to travel around the United States, Canada, and Mexico during summers. She enjoyed meeting new people at an early age and learned to appreciate their cultures and languages. The beauty of nature in the Rocky Mountains, British Columbia, the North Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Nova Scotia, the tropical jungles of South American countries, to name a few, remain embedded in her memory and frequently help her describe settings in her stories.
