Almost The Whole Truth, my first adult novel, is on the way!

It’s been a wild week of news for me, and it’s not over yet: Almost the Whole Truth, my first novel for adults, will be out in 2027!

It’s been bought in the UK at auction by Viking, an imprint of Penguin, and it also sold at auction in the US and Germany, with more territories still to come.

I am so proud, and so excited – this book has been an absolute dream to write and I cannot wait for you all to read it. Although it’s for adults, I think anyone 13+ could probably read it, and I particularly think that people who loved my books growing up will enjoy it.

Almost the Whole Truth is told in a mix of prose, podcast episodes, text messages, emails and community message board threads, and it’s the story of bookseller Alice Mildmay, whose boyfriend dumps her in 2019 for a local celebrity. Twenty days later, that celebrity is dead, and Alice’s ex is arrested and convicted of her murder. Everyone thinks that’s the end of the story … until in 2023, a journalist starts a podcast about the crime, claiming Alice’s ex is innocent. And the person he’s sure is guilty … is Alice. Can Alice and her best friend Lo solve the crime before Alice is accused of a murder she didn’t commit?

I’ll update you with more news as I have it – and if you haven’t, make sure you’ve signed up to my newsletter for monthly updates straight to your inbox!

MMU TV is on the way!

This has been the hardest secret to keep, but now the secret’s finally out: StudioCanal (Paddington), Strong Film & TV (Broadchurch) and my own production company Unladylike Productions have partnered together to bring you the thing you’ve been asking for: Murder Most Unladylike TV!

The pilot will be written by Anna McCleery (A Kind of Spark) and directed by James Strong (Broadchurch!), and at the moment we’re looking for a broadcaster to make this show as gorgeous and brilliant as we all know it should be. We had a writers’ room earlier this year, where the show began to take shape, and it was just incredible to start imagining Daisy and Hazel’s adventures on the big screen with such a talented team of writers and producers. (From l-r, top row: Claire Burgess, Emma Reeves, Dan Muirden and Sophie Wu; bottom row: Camille Saint Gal de Pons, Sarah Rees, me, Faebian Averies, Loretta Preece and Maja Bodenstein).

The news was announced yesterday, and has so far appeared in Deadline, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and the Wrap. I have been completely bowled over by your excitement and I cannot wait to help make all of our dreams a reality!

If you’re wondering about auditions, there’s still time before they happen! We have to find our broadcaster first – remember, nothing is ever certain in TV! If and when we do, I really hope we will hold open auditions for the teen roles. I don’t make final decisions on anything, but I am one of the voices in the room, and I know how important this is to you. So … watch this space!

I’ll keep on updating you with news and information – if you haven’t, please do sign up to my free newsletter. Things are about to get even more exciting!

Happy publication day, A Stocking Full of Spies!

The day is finally here! A Stocking Full of Spies is out in the UK and Ireland!

From the blurb:

It’s December 1941, and almost Christmas, when a bomb falls on Deepdean School for Girls. May and Nuala are whisked away from the chaos and sent to stay with May’s big sister, Hazel Wong, who is working at Bletchley Park.

Within seconds, they’re thrown straight into their most dangerous case yet. A codebreaker has been shot in what appears to be a tragic accident – until a suspicious and top-secret message is discovered in his pocket. Was he a spy, working for the other side? Was the message planted on him? Most importantly – was this murder?

Worst of all, Daisy’s big brother, Bertie Wells, is being blamed. It’s up to May, Nuala and their friend Eric to prove Bertie’s innocence and solve the mystery. But Bletchley is a strange and secretive place, full of Britain’s most ingenious minds. They’ll need to watch, listen, and puzzle out the incredible, unthinkable truth…

I’ve got lots of events planned over the next few months – please do come say hi if you can. If you want to keep up to date with what I’m doing, make sure you’ve signed up to my newsletter – it’s out every month and I share all the latest information there first. And now … happy reading, detectives!

Irish fans, despite best efforts (and I really did try!) it’s looking like your next event will be in Spring 2026. Bear with me – I’m working hard to make sure I come to Ireland soon, and I’ll share details when they’re finalised!

And if you’re disappointed that I’m not coming to your town or city, I am sorry. I try to keep moving around different parts of the UK with each tour (this time it’s the South West’s turn!), so there won’t always be an event in your area with each tour, and if I recently visited your area it’s likely I won’t be back for a few years. You may also need to travel a bit to meet me – I have to make sure I keep enough time to write, and that means I can’t visit everywhere that wants me. But 2026 will bring new opportunities, so please be patient and hopefully I’ll see you soon!

First Class Murder special edition available now – and more special editions on the way!

I’m delighted to be able to say that a special edition of First Class Murder, complete with a shiny new cover, special sprayed edges and a new introduction from me, is available NOW wherever my books are sold.

If you want to make sure you get your hands on one, I’d recommend going into a bookstore if you can – but even if you order online, the edition you get should be this one, at no extra cost!

And that’s not all – I’m really pleased that we’re going to be releasing the rest of the series in special edition over the next few years.

Each of these will be LIMITED editions – we’ll be doing one print run and not reprinting – so my advice to you if you want to build your collection is to buy each copy as it arrives in stores. This is one for the patient superfans – I hope you’ll feel rewarded!

The new-look newsletter is here!

We had to say goodbye to my old newsletter at the end of last year. But the good news is … its replacement is finally here!

The brand new Robin Stevens newsletter will have everything the old version did: updates about what I’m doing, sneak peeks into my next books and reminders about where I’m going to be visiting.

But it’ll also have recommendations (remember my monthly YouTube recommendation videos? I just don’t have time to do those any more, but this is the next best thing) as well as general thoughts from me.

I’m really excited about it, and I hope you are too – sign up now through my website’s newsletter page (if you’re under 18, please ask a trusted adult to sign up using their email), and the first email will be hitting your inboxes next week!
