These words are written in 2020 as the world battles Coronavirus. I reassure my great-granddaughters with the old adage, “This too shall pass.”
Looking back over 92 years, the climb from the valleys of my life remain in sight. The unacceptable hurt for me has been survived by writing Fred’s Story – the two biographies about my son. The Scholarship Fund to carry on Fred’s work as a teacher will continue as long as college students need help.
Writing has been the band-aid for the bumps and battering. Some have come about through Fate and some through my own disregard for the consequences. At the age of ten or eleven I found a stack of 1930’s magazines – Woman’s Home Companion and Ladies Journal – in my grandma’s storage shed. After a summer ...more

Mariam Cheshire Hi Rod - It looks like I missed answering your nice message. Well, at 95 I had to finish up on writing books. My fingers just won't hit the right keys anymore. My last book "Return to Sanctuary - Plague" was written fifty years after my first published one "The Alternate Safe World of Sanctuary." (this has a revised version now).
No special way of living to make it this far. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is a mystery, so enjoy today.

Chris wrote, “Grandma, my stomach began churning and a big dark cloud came to rest over my heart.” I understood. When I mentioned the word ‘hospice’, he thought I’d be leaving in six months.
