New Book!
My latest novel Eroshenko is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Links to other book sellers coming soon.
I'm so excited to finally share this novel with readers. It's a bit different from my previous books as it's not a romance, but it is another historical novel set in Japan. Fans of Flowers by Night will also enjoy this story, set 100 years later.
Vasily Eroshenko was a real person, a blind man who traveled from Moscow to Tokyo in 1915 and became a celebrity there, writing and lecturing on socialism, feminism and disability rights. The story is told from the point of view of his close friend Kamichika Ichiko, a woman reporter and feminist activist with her own wild true story. The issues these leftists wrestled with are still very relevant today.
Please pre-order, as it really helps a lot with visibility and accessibility. Thank you!
If you're curious about Eroshenko, you can also read translations of some of his short stories and essays in The Narrow Cage and Other Modern Fairy Tales.
