I have always been fascinated by the people who came before us. Not simply the names and dates that survived, but the lives behind them. Who they loved. What they feared. What made them laugh. What they believed. What they endured. And all the ordinary moments that were once somebody's entire life.

That curiosity is what draws me to historical fiction.

I love old journals, family histories, forgotten places, old maps, and the small details of everyday life that make the past feel human again. I can lose hours following a name through an old record or researching something as simple as what someone might have worn, eaten, carried in a pocket, or seen when they looked out their window.
