S.S. August is a twenty-year-old independent author who has always found home in words.

Having grown up moving from place to place, and with English as her third language, writing became a way to make sense of experiences that were sometimes difficult to put into words. What began as poetry written for a first love eventually became something more: stories built to capture the depth of life, and to make both the writer and the reader feel a little less alone.

S.S. August is drawn to morally grey characters, complicated relationships, messy endings, and stories that don’t pretend life is simple. Her writing explores trauma, healing, love, and the ways people can change one another—even when they were never meant to be saved.
